3 years ago, I quit my corporate job to prioritize my wellbeing after feeling burned out. But when I started my business, I fell back into old habits: pulling all-nighters and working 10+ hour days to prove my worth. I tried all the quick-fixes (massages, bubble baths, business coaches) to make myself feel better, but the feeling didn't last.
I knew in order to make a permanent change, I had to be intentional. So, I slowed down, reconnected to myself and simplified my routines, and found the freedom, inner peace, and overall wellbeing I’ve always longed for.

I played hooky to recharge & unwind
As an enneagram 7 and Leo star sign with Sagittarius rising, I've always hated authority. Like, SO much.
When I started my 9-5 journey, it just didn't feel right and I've never felt a strong loyalty to any past employers - because the way the "modern day workplace" was run didn't sit right with me.
I didn't want to commute for 2 hours. I didn't want to make small talk with people.
I got burnt out and developed chronic headaches. Thousands of dollars and weekends wasted at doctor's offices without an answer later, I started taking very much needed sick days so I could prioritize my mental and physical wellbeing.
And it was my lifeline.
When I finally quit my job to start my own business at the beginning of the pandemic, I fell back into my old corporate behavior, working late nights and constantly feeling behind on all I wanted to get done.
But after beginning to feel misaligned and frustrated yet again, I realized that I hadn't made time for the reasons I started my business for in a long time:
to create a life that would allow me to live a freedom-led life while prioritizing my wellbeing.
Eventually, I realized that life is way too short to just be going through the motions, getting stuck in autopilot and chasing vanity metrics set by others to be your make or break point of success.
The only things that are truly ever going to be relevant and of the most importance is our wellbeing, time spent making memories with friends and family, to live, to create a life that has your heart beating out of your chest with JOY for the life you’ve created.
You don't need to kill yourself working to allow yourself to live the life you desire in 20 years.
